This 2 day program has been designed to meet the competencies set by the Victorian WorkCover Authority for representatives nominated by the employer to resolve OHS issues. The Act requires that these representatives have “an appropriate level of seniority” and be “sufficiently competent.”
At the completion of this program participants will be able to :
- Identify and apply the responsibilities of employers, employees and employer representatives under the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004.
- Apply the principle of “reasonable practicability” to workplace situations
- Identify, assess and control hazards present in the workplace or associated with tasks and occupations
- Communicate effectively on health and safety issues with other employees, including health and safety representatives and OHS Committee members, WorkSafe Inspectors and Authorised Representatives of Registered Employee Organisations.
- Contribute to the implementation of consultative processes as required by Part 4 of the Act.
- Utilise the issue resolution processes outlined in Section 73 of the Act to a range of workplace health and safety issues.
- Investigate injuries, illnesses and incidents
This program is offered at your workplace and is suitable for managers, supervisors and team leaders who have responsibilities for health and safety in their work area. The program fee for the 2 days is $2640 which includes a workbook for each participant.
